Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic musician, singer and actor. He blends jazz from the soul genre with R&B in a distinct mix. Avery Sunshine has performed on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine is the daughter of Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta but she is from Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing and playing piano in churches. She was a student at Spellman College and began to learn the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. In 2007, Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform during President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
