Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook in her Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has worked in many of the best eateries located in New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America sparked her interest in the management of restaurants after she graduated with an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America has been a great learning experience. Culinary Institute of America was a great location to learn. Following graduation at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, Chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. During her time in Italy she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian culinary and cultural traditions that has had a profound impact from a culinary perspective. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. She has been a frequent speaker at conferences and travels across the nation to mentor others in her role. Anne has, through her whole experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be able to share this passion for life with others.
